Apple, I love you a lot. I love your software, and your hardware… but I have a problem with iWork… a big problem that I’ve had for 3 Major revisions, all of which don’t address this major issue…
Surely you have heard of this great feature of every other office suite that’s called Autosave? Well, in case you don’t know Apple, allow me to clue you in on what autosave is.
…Autosave is this great feature which automatically saves our open documents every X minutes (Usually we (the user) can define how long we want the time between our saves to be) So just incase (God forbid) your application crashes, or say the power goes out… or something happens where the Application quits we at least have a recent revision of it.
Let’s face it Apple, You admitted the truth to us at WWDC 2 years ago… we don’t back up our documents as often as we should, and you gave us TimeMachine. Now admit to us that we don’t save our open documents as often as we should, and give us AutoSave.
It’s very annoying to be working on a document, and something happens where our computer crashes, or the Application we’re working in crashes and *poof* our work is gone because we forgot to save. It really doesn’t fall into the “It just works” mentality of Apple.
So please… please Apple, include AutoSave across all the iWork ‘08 applications in a software update. it can’t be hard. It’d be great coupled with your ‘Back up previous version when saving’ function. …Please Apple, we the users need AutoSave to alleviate unwanted disaster that does occur against our (and your) will.

but apple does have an autosave!
